May 23, 2021 – In a pre-recorded video, the President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA) Arsenio “Nick” J. Lizaso said that if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a sculpture is worth a million.
NCAA Chairman Lizaso said that the unveiling of the marble statue of the First Vision shows us that art indeed is spiritual and it reaches the man and the spirit – all in the chain of artistic creation. “But more importantly, this sculpture symbolizes the deep spirituality and values of our brothers and sisters in the Church, since their very first mission in the Philippines,” he added.
He also said that this year’s celebration of faith serves as a reminder to all our brothers and sisters around the country of the opportunities for service to millions of others in selfless application of spiritual wisdom and warm goodwill toward all people.
As The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Philippines celebrated its 60 years of continued brotherhood, compassion and mutual respect, he urged Church members to look back at the rich history of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the country, and used these encounters as inspiration to unite and propel forward.
“At this critical juncture, we Filipinos have a compelling need to invoke the power of united prayer regardless of nationality, language or beliefs, we all heal together,” he concluded.
