The Journey that comes to Full Circle

Every author is a writer, but not every writer is an author.

This simple truth has guided me for years, and today, it resonates with a depth I could not have imagined.

This morning, I received my Certificate of Registration from the National Book Development Board (NBDB)—the Philippines’ official authority on book publishing, tasked with fostering a vibrant, diverse, and equitable publishing ecosystem.

This certificate does more than bear my name. It formally recognizes me as a Registered Author/Writer, granting the rights and privileges enshrined in the Book Publishing Industry Development Act (RA 8047) and other Philippine laws.

For me, it is a milestone, a tangible affirmation of my commitment to uphold integrity, quality, and purpose in my writing. It is proof that my quiet words—once scribbled in solitude—now hold a recognized place in the literary landscape of the Philippines.

A writer begins in silence. Scribbling thoughts, filling notebooks, revising endlessly, and wondering if these words will ever reach beyond private pages. That was me. Writing was my solace, my reflection, my way of giving voice to emotions my heart could not contain.

But being an author is different. Authorship is the act of stepping out of the private and into the shared. It is releasing your work into the world, trusting it will find a home in readers’ hearts you may never meet. It is courage, responsibility, and a seed of legacy.

This NBDB certificate tells me that the stories I once guarded are now recognized as having purpose—to inspire, to connect, and to endure.

Another blessing in this journey is seeing my books registered with ISBNs, a mark of authenticity and permanence. I am deeply grateful to Ukiyoto Publishing, my traditional publisher, for believing in my work and making it a reality—without me spending a single peso. Their trust turned dreams into pages, and pages into books.

This full circle isn’t an ending—it is a turning point. The circle spins, the pages turn, and the pen never truly rests. I move forward not just as a writer, not just as an author, but as both. ✨
To God be all the glory for this milestone.

To my family and friends—thank you for walking with me on this path. Your love, encouragement, and belief in me continue to give my words life.
